| How much does the average website cost? | ^ return to top |
| We can meet any budget, whether it's less than $1,000 or greater than $10,000. Every client and every website is different. For that reason, it is hard to generalize the development cost of a website. The average, basic website can be developed around a budget of $1500 - $3000. Obviously, the more complex the website, the greater the price. | |
| How long does it take to develop a website? | ^ return to top |
| Every website is different. The duration of the project is mainly determined by how complex the project is as well as how quickly each client submits required documents to us. Our average turn around time is between 2 - 6 weeks. | |
| I know nothing about websites. Does that matter? | ^ return to top |
| Of course not. That's what we are here for. We will guide you every step of the way. Even if you don't know what you need, we know all right the questions to ask to extract the information we need out of you. Don't worry, it's very painless and stress-free. | |
| I want to sell [insert product] online. Can you help? | ^ return to top |
| Absolutely! We have a lot of experience building eCommerce websites. We offer everything you need to open an online storefront including shopping carts, credit card processing, and online marketing. | |
| Why don't you have any eCommerce sites in your portfolio? | ^ return to top |
| For privacy reasons, we do not disclose information about certain projects either because the client has requested us not to, or, because we do not want to give the impression that we are endorsing a particular product or brand. As a result, we have elected not to include eCommerce sites in our portfolio. | |

| Do you install/develop CMS's? | ^ return to top |
| Yes, and the pricing varies greatly depending on the project. We typically use Joomla!, but we can work with any CMS if you have a specific preference. | |
| Do you outsource? | ^ return to top |
| No. We have never come across anything we can't handle ourselves. Therefore, there is no need for us to outsource. Keeping everything in-house allows us to keep our prices low as well as guarantees only top quality work. | |
| What is cross-browser testing? | ^ return to top |
|
Although the W3C does a fantastic job of setting the standards that should be followed by all web developers, unfortunately software manufacturers seem to have a hard time getting their browsers to render web pages the same across the board *cough*MicroSofties*cough*. While this doesn't affect you while you're browsing the internet, it does require developers to take extra steps to ensure that their projects are rendered the same in every browser to ensure a consistent user experience. Here at Splice, we cross-browser test every website that we develop. This allows to know for fact that no matter the browser or operating system being used, our site will look great. Not that it matters, but... Firefox is our browser of choice. It's free, it's customizable, and we couldn't live without it. If you've never heard of it or if you're not using it, you're truly missing out. And yes we realize that we are complete nerds. |
