Splice Web Design is the brainchild of Wes Dollar. What started as a hobby when he was 12 years old has since turned into a full-blown obsession turned career. Being an entrepreneur by nature, he quit his job as a restaurant manager and began working for himself as Splice officially began making a presence on the world wide web.
Dollar’s vision for Splice was simple: do it good, do it right, and provide a good customer service experience. The philosophy here at Splice is all about simplifying the lives of our many clients. From start to finish, it is our goal to alleviate the stress related to developing a successful online presence. We like our lives to be as stress-free as possible, and we suspect that we’re not the only ones out there that feel this way. A happy customer, after all, is the best customer.
While developing websites is what we do, it’s really the inside that matters to us. We have learned through the years that a well programmed website usually results in a very aesthetically appealing website. So, we start with our coding practices. We stay up to date with the standards set by the W3C (they are the guys that make the internet laws, so to speak). All of our websites are 100% W3C standards compliant, which means they’ll look good, work good, and no one will have to clean up a mess that we left behind.
We also specialize in developing and pioneering ways to make your website more efficient. We rely heavily on CGI, PHP, and MySQL (the stuff that makes the internet really work), and develop custom programs that do really cool stuff. “Like what?” Glad you asked... like allow you edit the content of your website, add news articles to your home page, and even create entire new pages, all without requiring you to learn fancy code like HTML. Other programs we have developed allow you to maintain a mailing list, offer a forum for discussions, capture visitors’ information in a database for storage (with their permission of course), and sell "stuff" through an online catalog complete with payment processing. In a nut shell, if you’ve seen it on another site, we can do.
